
A 16-year-old boy is dead after sustaining injuries in a motor vehicle crash on the Bickersteth main road in St James on Saturday.
His identity has been revealed as Kyno Atkins, of Johnson Common in Bickersteth in St James.
Police reports are that about 2:40 pm, Atkins was driving a motorcycle along the roadway, when he allegedly attempted to overtake a Toyota Voxy motor car.
According to investigators, it is believed he developed a skid, lost control of the motorcycle and fell off.
The motorcycle then crashed into a Toyota Wish motor car that was travelling in the opposite
direction. Another motorcycle then crashed into Atkins as he lay on the ground.
Passers-by assisted Atkins to the hospital, where he died while being treated.
The second motorcyclist fled the scene. The driver of the Toyota Wish motor car was interviewed
and released.
The police is now urging persons who may have information that can assist them in their investigation to contact the Cambridge Police at 876-912-2266, or 119 number or the nearest police station.
