Jamaican songbird, Tessanne Chin has welcomed her second daughter, Aayla Denise Crooks.

The 8lbs, 6oz baby girl was born on February 2 at Andrews Memorial Hospital in St Andrew to Chin and her husband, Brandon Crooks.

Her first daughter, Zaia Christine Crooks, who is now three years old, celebrated her birthday a day earlier, on February 1.

A week ago, Chin treated her almost 300k Instagram followers to a mesmerising pregnant photo of herself in a verdant overgrown field, proudly sporting her large baby bump. The caption read: “Counting the days until I get to hold you my darling.”

The couple had announced the pregnancy on August 7, the day after Jamaica’s Independence Day, with an adorable picture of Zaia with a shirt reading, “I’m going to be a big sister”.

Chin’s victorious stint on the American reality competition show, The Voice, catapulted her into international stardom. Her soulful performances captivated the judges and audiences across the United States and Jamaica.

She stood out by bringing her unique cultural flair to every performance, all while making history as the first international artiste to win the competition.

Following her win, Chin released several successful singles, and her first album, Count on My Love, which was released in 2014.

The project debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and topped the charts in Jamaica.

Chin has also performed on various national television shows and tours, and has been a featured artiste on several other artistes’ albums.
