TGI Fridays to open new restaurant in Portmore

Prestige Restaurants Jamaica Limited (PRJL) has announced plans to open a second TGI Fridays restaurant in Jamaica, this time in Portmore, St Catherine.

This announcement was part of the Prestige Holdings Limited (PHL) 2024 second quarter report, which was released to the public on Monday, June 30.

“In Jamaica where we have one TGI Fridays restaurant. Plans are in place to open a second restaurant in this financial year, at Portmore, reflecting our confidence in the TGI Fridays brand and in the Jamaican economy,” PRJL said.

The Prestige Restaurants of Jamaica Ltd is a subsidiary of the wider PHL brand, with the entire conglomerate having the exclusive right to operate and run TGI Fridays restaurants within CARICOM member states.

PHL currently operates 5 TGI Fridays in the Caribbean, four in Trinidad and Tobago, and one in Jamaica.

The TGI Fridays in Jamaica, located at the intersection of Hope Road and East Kings House Road, began operating in 2004.

TGI Friday’s pending Portmore restaurant is set to be located along the Braeton Parkway, which is already home to several significant businesses, including PriceSmart and Sovereign Mall.

Construction of the restaurant is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.
