The Bahamian Government has made arrangements to airlift its nationals studying in Jamaica today (July 2) as Hurricane Beryl approaches.

Consul General Alveta Knight advised students who wish to evacuate to make their way to the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston by 4:00 pm local time.

A Bahamasair 50-seater aircraft, initially scheduled for departure at 2:00 pm local time, has extended its deadline to accommodate students travelling to Kingston from Montego Bay.

Students are urged to arrive at the airport by 2:00 pm and coordinate their departures with Consul General Alveta Knight to ensure a smooth evacuation process.

She can be contacted at 876-436-8768 or by email at [email protected]

Hurricane Beryl is projected to make landfall as early as tomorrow morning, and the Jamaican government has already invoked the Disaster and Risk Management Act (DRMA).
