The New York Jets ended their season horribly.
Their 35-8 loss to the Buffalo Bills wasn’t just another defeat; it placed them into NFL history for all the wrong reasons.
Gang Green became the first team ever to lose five straight games by at least 23 points, posting a staggering point differential of -134, or an average loss of nearly 27 points per game. This was also their 14th loss of the season, a level of futility previously seen only under Rich Kotite in 1995 and Adam Gase in 2020.
The Jets added a new low as they finished the season without a single interception. Even the record- breaking 49ers of recent years managed to snag a pick eventually, but the Jets didn’t.
First-year head coach Aaron Glenn oversaw a chaotic season. Three quarterbacks started for the team as Justin Fields was benched, Tyrod Taylor suffered an injury, and Brady Cook was forced into action at the end.
At the trade deadline, the Jets moved stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams for draft picks from the Colts and Cowboys. Both teams missed the playoffs, meaning the Jets came away with reasonably valuable returns, including the second overall pick in the 2026 draft.
Now it falls to general manager Darren Mougey to decide how to rebuild and whether Glenn is the right person to lead the turnaround.
