Keanu Reeves is back in John Wick: Chapter 4, as the once-retired assassin on a seemingly never-ending mission of revenge.

But while Reeves’ latest outing as John Wick has received widespread acclaim as the most extraordinary display of action and stuntwork in the series, the actor apparently didn’t have to spend much time learning lines.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Reeves only says 380 words while playing the role of John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 4. He has 103 lines of dialogue during the movie, which has a runtime of approximately 169 minutes (almost three hours!). Ten per cent of the actor’s dialogue is in the two-and-a-half-minute trailer for the movie.

Reeves and director Chad Stahelski removed “roughly half the dialogue written for his character in the initial script”.

According to reports, the more stripped down dialogue was in aid of a ‘show ’em, don’t tell ’em’ film experience to thrill the audience.

By all indications, John Wick hit the mark.

Whittaker, a native of Salt Spring in Montego Bay, was arrested earlier this year during a police traffic stop in Miami, where officers reportedly found a firearm inside the vehicle he was travelling in. According to US authorities, the weapon had been altered with a device commonly referred to in Jamaica as a “chip glock”, which enables rapid fire.
