
Tottenham Hotspur entertained Thomas Frank’s old team, Brentford, at home today (December 6), and before the whistle kicked off the game, there was a lot to worry about.
Tottenham have been atrocious at home this season, and their head coach did not want to be embarrassed by his former club at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With mounting criticism and insipid performances, Tottenham were looking to bounce back, and so they did today.
Xavi Simons cost them £52 million and was supposed to be the replacement for Son Heung-min and expected to be equally as effective. After 18 appearances, he hasn’t scored a goal, but he did today after Richarlison opened Tottenham’s account in the 25th minute.
Kolo Mani has been showing promise, and he did so today for the north Londoners.
Mohamed Kudus had a goal disallowed in the second half.
At this point in time, with Maddison and Kulusevski out injured, Tottenham lack creativity and a strike force capable of guaranteed goals. Let’s see what they are capable of on their return.
Simons showed his capabilities today, but he must be more consistent.
Tottenham dominated this game and, with the win, climbs to ninth in the EPL table with 22 points.
This was their second home league win of the season.
