Jamaican dancehall artiste and and fashionista Latifa Brown, better known as ‘Tifa’, has added restaurant owner to her list of titles with her soon-to-open Jamaican eatery in south Florida, United States.

The menu at Dulcie’s Jamaican and Everything won’t just focus on Jamaican food, but also includes ‘everything else that is food’, such as lobster mac and cheese, Jamaican curry goat, oxtail and more, according to the owner who named the establishment after her grandmother.

While she hasn’t been on the scene in Jamaica for some time, Tifa has a solid place in the history of the local entertainment industry. During her career, she has also made music influenced by American hip hop as well as songs that were and remain sensual and provocative.

Tifa first began concentrating on her music in 2005.

She explored her sexuality through her music, touching topics considered ‘taboo’ in Jamaica.

She debuted on the music scene with her 2008 single, Bottom of the Barrel, which gave her exposure and stardom in Jamaica.

Her other notable tunes include 2015’s Jealous Ova and probably her biggest hit, Spell It Out, which was released in 2009.

She also toured Europe and won several awards including accolades from the Excellence in Music & Entertainment Awards and the local Youth View Awards.

She toured with groups T.O.K., ARP and the Innocent Crew which formed the collective Ward 21.

Tifa also made history as the first female dancehall artiste to perform in the Czech Republic.

With the name she has made for herself locally, regionally and internationally, her notoriety may very well give a boost to her business.

But even without the fame, just working hard and being herself will bring Dulcie’s all the exposure it needs.

Our Today believes she will have nothing but success in her latest business venture!
