Tiger Woods will miss The Masters this April, deciding to take a break from golf following his recent car crash in Florida.
The 50 -year -old, a five time Masters champion, revealed he is stepping away for a period of time to focus on treatment after being charged with driving under the influence. Police reports showed Woods had two hydrocodone pills in his pocket and admitted to glancing at his phone moments before the crash.
Augusta National confirmed Woods’ absence but said he will still attend the opening of ‘The Patch’ municipal course and the Champions Dinner, hosted this year by Rory McIlroy. Woods hasn’t played an outdoor tournament since missing the cut at the 2024 Open Championship, and his brief return at the TGL finals in March had sparked hope for an Augusta appearance. Following multiple injuries from a serious 2021 crash, Woods’ schedule has been limited, and he will now focus on recovery before returning to competitive golf.
