A Tropical Wave is just east of Jamaica and is expected to move across the island later today bringing a storm filled weekend.

This Tropical Wave is producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms bringing unstable weather to Jamaica for the next two days.

Additionally, due to recent rainfall from Hurricane Beryl and the resulting ground saturation, flooding and landslides are highly likely.

Windy conditions are also expected from Saturday due to the presence of a Low-Level Jet Stream.

  • Expect isolated showers across sections of south-central and eastern parishes, otherwise cloudy coditions this morning,
  • Expect it to become more cloudy with widely scattered showers and thunderstorms across most parishes as well as windy conditions along coastal areas this afternoon.
  • Expect isolated showers, especially across sections of southern and northeastern parishes to continue into the evening.

The maximum temperature expected for Kingston and Montego Bay today is 32 degrees Celsius.

  • Saturday: Morning showers and possible thunderstorms mainly across eastern and south-central parishes, otherwise cloudy. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms across most parishes. Windy conditions expected.
  • Sunday and Monday: Partly cloudy mornings across eastern parishes. Isolated afternoon showers and likely thunderstorms across western parishes and hilly areas. Windy conditions will persist.
