With Facebook and its associate companies Instagram and WhatsApp going down today (October 4), much to the consternation of the world, tech company Amber Group’s founder and CEO Dushyant Savadia says it’s too early to tell exactly why the popular social media platforms have been rendered inoperable.
Five hours after going down, Facebook has not explained what exactly is the problem and when it anticipates getting back up.
There is speculation that the company’s decision to make so many updates of its Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) may have inadvertently caused a technical headache.
Savadia, speaking with Our Today, said: “It’s too early to say exactly why this has happened. Facebook with need time to locate the problem. It could be a global server outage. Facebook’s priority is to get back on line quickly and to see to it that the problem is fixed.”
