Top 10 passports in the English-speaking Caribbean for visa-free travel

Jamaica comes in dead last among English-speaking Caribbean countries, ranking 63rd in the world for passport visa-free travel power.

The Henley Passport Index, created by Henley & Partners, over the last 18 years has been using data provided by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) and supplemented, enhanced, and updated using extensive in-house research and open-source online data to determine the strongest passports in the world by comparing 199 passports against all 227 possible travel destinations and according to them, in 2023.

Here are the top 10 passports in the English-speaking Caribbean for visa-free travel:

10. Guyana

Guyana, finished just ahead of Jamaica at 62nd in the world and holders of a Guyanese passport can visit 88 countries worldwide visa-free.

9. Dominica

Up next is Dominica, finishing at 35th in the world, holders of a Dominican passport can visit 145 countries worldwide visa-free. According to the report, they can visit locations such as the UK and Europe without a Visa but require one for the US, Canada and Mexico.

8. Grenada

Just ahead of Dominica, by one location, is Grenada, finishing at 34th in the world, holders of a Grenadian passport can visit 146 countries worldwide visa-free.

7. St Lucia

Slightly ahead of Dominica and Grenada is St Lucia, finishing at 33th in the world, holders of a St Lucian passport can visit 147 countries worldwide visa-free.

6. Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago comes next finishing at 31st in the world. Holders of a Trinidadian passport can visit 151 countries worldwide visa-free.

5. Antigua and Barbuda

Tied with Trinidad is Antigua and Barbuda also finishing at 31st in the world. Holders of an Antiguan passport are just as powerful travel-wise as the people from the south Caribbean island and can also visit 151 countries worldwide visa-free.

4. St Vincent and the Grenadines

Finishing the highest among the Windward Islands, and ahead of Trinidad and Antigua is St Vincent at rank 30. Holders of this passport can visit 152 countries worldwide visa-free.

3. The Bahamas

The Bahamas makes it to the finally 3 in the Caribbean and finishes at 27th place worldwide. Holders of a Bahamian passport can travel to 155 countries worldwide visa-free.

2. St Kitts and Nevis

St Kitts and Nevis make it to the second highest position in the Caribbean and finishes at 26th place worldwide. Holders of a Kittitian passports can travel to 157 countries worldwide visa-free.

1. Barbados

The highest placed Caribbean country in the world is Barbados which finishes at 24th place worldwide. Holders of a Bajan passport can visit 163 countries worldwide visa-free.

The top three countries worldwide were Asian nations with Japan at #1. Japanese passport holders can visit 193 locations worldwide.

Japan is followed closely by both Singapore and South Korea, which were jointly rank at #2. Holders of Singapore or South Korea passports can visit 192 locations worldwide.
