Heavy rainfall has caused a disruption in today’s, May 6, exam proceedings for several schools in St Thomas, according to the Overseas Examination Commission (OEC).
The disruption is mainly due to flooding in the areas of Hordley and Duckenfield in the vicinity of St Thomas.
The OEC says torrential rains from the previous week have caused flooding in these areas, impacting students who travel through Hordley and Duckenfield to reach their designated exam centres.
Schools like St Thomas Technical High School and many others in the surrounding areas may be affected.

Important Information for Students:
- Students who are unable to reach their designated exam centres due to flooding are being instructed to attend the closest alternative examination centre.
- Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Your safety is our top priority.
- Please take your original exam registration number, timetable, and your identification card to the alternative exam centre.
Additional Information for Schools and Examination Bodies:
- We will provide further instructions and updates as they become available.
- Schools accommodating students with EDPM Paper 2 who are impacted by the flooding should make contact with the OEC.
- Schools should apply the “ Out of Centre Protocol”.
