Market production across continental Europe is up, with the latest numbers for April 2024 showing a 0.7 per cent rise in the European Union (EU) and 0.3 per cent in the Euro area compared to the previous month.

In comparison to the same month last year, total market production climbed by 1.1 per cent in the EU and 1.0 per cent in the Euro area.

In the EU, this was associated with a growth in services production (+4.2 per cent) and trade (+2.2 per cent), while industrial production and construction declined (-2.0 per cent and -0.9 per cent, respectively).
