Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, is currently in Washington, D.C. undertaking a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening Jamaica’s global tourism partnerships and reinforcing its leadership in resilience and innovation.
A key highlight of the visit will be his delivery of the inaugural Don Hawkins Distinguished Lecture at the George Washington University School of Business, under the theme, “From Jamaica to the World: A Global Contribution to Tourism Resilience.”
During the visit, Minister Bartlett has engaged with key international stakeholders, including the Inter-American Development Bank, while also participating in media engagements and destination marketing activities to strengthen Jamaica’s presence in the U.S. market.
He is also slated to meet with representatives of the World Bank. The visit underscores Jamaica’s continued push to expand its global footprint while building a more resilient and competitive tourism sector.
For the Tourism Minister, “Engagements such as these are critical as we continue to position Jamaica as a global leader in tourism resilience and innovation post Hurricane Melissa. Our strategy is not only to recover but to grow stronger by deepening partnerships, expanding markets and strengthening confidence in Destination Jamaica.”
