The Countrystyle Community Tourism Network (CCTN) in association with the Manchester Peace Coalition (MPCo) will be unveiling the first Tourism Peace Monument in Jamaica this weekend.

In partnership with the Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (COESL) and the Manchester Horticulture Society, the monument will be unveiled at the Horticultural Grounds, Brooks Park, Mandeville this Saturday, May 20 starting at 2:00 pm.

The peace monument was donated by Washington-based NGO Heavenly Culture World Peace and Restoration of Light as a grant to CCTN, which is a member of the World Tourism Network. The project is open to other communities, including members of the World Tourism Network.

CCTN partnered with the MPCo, chaired by Dr. Clifton Reid to create the monument. It was a collaboration with the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) Peace Villages program with this project.

Other Caribbean nations such as Dominica and Barbados are involved with a worldwide arm. Chairman of the MPCo, Dr. Clifton Reid, in approving the project says it will pave the way forward to assist in creating peaceful communities.

MPCo was created with the support of the Founder/President of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT), Dr Louis D’Amore.
