Transport Ministry announces toll rate adjustments effective July 6

There will be an adjustment to the toll rate for Highway 2000 effective July 6, according to the Ministry of Energy and Transport.

This adjustment will be applied to the Portmore, Spanish Town, Vineyards, and May Pen toll plazas.

For the Spanish Town toll plaza, class 1 vehicles are set to pay $270, an increase from $255, while the T-tag rate will now be at $260. The rate for class 2 vehicles will move from $430 to $470, while the new T-tag rate will now be $440. Likewise, the rate for class 3 vehicles will move from $750 to $880.

Motorists who utilise the Portmore toll plaza will see their toll rate move from $340 to $360 for class 1 vehicles, while the T-tag rate will now be at $350. Meanwhile, the new rate for class 2 vehicles will now be $660, an increase from $630, while class 3 vehicles will now be $1,090, a move from the $1,020 currently being paid.

The new rate for motorists who utilize the Vineyards toll plaza will see class 1 motorists paying $730, an increase from $670. T-tag users will now pay $650. The rate for class 2 vehicles will move from $990 to $1,100, while T-tag users will pay $1,050. Meanwhile, the rate for class 3 vehicles will move from $2000 to $2,200.

For the May Pen toll plaza, class 1 motorists will now pay $240 from $220, while T-tag users will pay $220. 

The rate for class 2 motorists will move from $350 to $390, while motorists who utilise T-tags will pay $370. The class 3 rate will move from $630 to $700.

There may be a further delay discount for T-tag users for class 1 and 2 vehicles who utilise the toll plaza after their 10th passage.

Members of the public may submit their concerns about the new rates to the Toll Authority of Jamaica office on Oxford Road, Kingston.
