Trelawny man charged with stabbing another after being denied entry into nightclub

Thirty-seven-year-old Vinroy Virgo of Falmouth Gardens in Falmouth, Trelawny has been charged with wounding with intent following an incident in Water Square in the parish on Wednesday.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that at about 1:00 am, Virgo was at a club in the parish when he was told he could not enter the premises with liquor. An argument developed between both parties and Virgo left.

While the man was walking in the square, he was confronted by Virgo and an argument developed which got physical. During a tussle, Virgo brandished a knife and used it to stab the man to his left side. The man was assisted to the hospital where he was treated and admitted in serious but stable condition.

A report was made to the police and on Saturday, October 12, Virgo was arrested and subsequently charged. His court date is being finalized.
