Tropical Battery, through its subsidiary Tropical Renewable Energy, has won a major dealership contract with eGauge, one the world’s leading providers of technologically advanced energy monitoring systems for residential and commercial use.

Based in Colorado, USA, eGauge has appointed Tropical Renewable Energy as its authorised reseller of eGauge Systems in Jamaica. The eGauge is a CT meter, which means it can measure the power of individual circuits in your electric panel using sensors called current transformers (CTs).

This contract is expected to boost Tropical Renewable Energy’s income stream and thereby add greater profitability to the Tropical Battery subsidiary.

Tropical Renewable Energy was established in 2009 to serve the needs of the renewable energy market in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.

Its mission is to facilitate the transition to energy independence by providing development, procurement, and project management services, and by supplying renewable energy equipment to electricity consumers, installers and engineering, procurement, and construction companies (EPCs).

The company helps consumers lower the cost of electricity while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, thereby contributing to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goals 3 (Good health and well-being), 7 (Affordable and clean energy), 8 (Decent work and economic growth), and 13 (Climate action).
