Reddie Children’s Home in Kingston was transformed with new energy and enhancements this Labour Day, thanks to the efforts of managed IT services provider tTech Limited.
Continuing their commitment from the previous year, tTech returned to the children’s home to provide essential renovations, ensuring a safer and more comfortable environment for the children at Reddie.
Phillip Paulwell, Member of Parliament for Kingston East and Port Royal, joined in on the efforts to support the work.
Recognising some of the challenges faced by the home, tTech addressed these needs by providing essential supplies and resources alongside ongoing facility upgrades.
For Labour Day 2024, the tTech team installed two industrial fans in the children’s common area, just in time for the summer heat, repainted and updated the library and common area that they had donated the previous year with cozy bean bag seating, and provided additional resources.
These efforts were aimed at beautifying and enhancing the overall well-being of the children at the home.
tTech Limited CEO Norman Chen, who led the refurbishment efforts, commented, “Our Labour Day activities at Reddie Children’s Home reflect tTech’s commitment to youth development and community support. We believe in creating safe and nurturing environments for children to thrive.”
“This year, our team worked to ensure the children have a more comfortable space to live and learn. It’s not just about giving back; it’s about making a lasting impact,” he continued.

Marsha Bucknor, tTech’s sales and marketing manager, reaffirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to the Reddie Children’s Home, stating, “tTech has always been attentive to the overwhelming need for youth and community support, especially in the downtown Kingston area, where we also call home. Our continued efforts to support and refurbish the Reddie Children’s Home is a fulfilling part of our journey to carrying out our mandate of making a real difference.”
Reddie Children’s Home, a private facility now operating in its 54th year and currently houses over 20 children, has faced challenges in catering to the needs of the wards, including a steady supply of food, toiletries, general maintenance, and funds.
These and other contributions from tTech, who adopted the home in May 2023, have been instrumental in addressing some of these needs.
The tTech team, making it a family affair, took part in the activities to enhance the home, further demonstrating the company’s philosophy of fostering a culture of care and involvement among its employees and their families.
