Children and staff at the Reddie Children’s Home in Kingston received an outpouring of cheer from tTech Limited in the form of a festive Christmas treat on December 15.

The treat, according to tTech, was aimed to bring joy and warmth to the young residents and in furtherance of its promise earlier in the year to adopt the children’s home.

The IT services firm offered gifts for all the children, accompanied by a generous spread of their favourite food, snacks and refreshments.

Speaking on the initiative, Marsha Bucknor, tTech Limited’s marketing and sales manager, remarked, “As we celebrate the spirit of giving during this festive season, our goal was to create a moment of joy and togetherness for the children. We are deeply committed to seeing the continued development of the Home, and we are honoured to be part of their lives and make such a meaningful impact.”

Norman Chen, chief executive of tTech Limited, who accompanied his team at the treat, agreed – noting that the company’s ongoing relationship with the home reflected its attention to community development, especially in the downtown Kingston area, from which the company operates.

This festive initiative builds upon the tTech’s adoption of the children’s home on May 23, initiated by a Labour Day refurbishing and donations project. This in tandem with its most recent undertaking at the home in September, where in honour of World Literacy Day, tTech donated a fully equipped library, furnished with bookshelves hand-built and installed by CEO Chen, and was stocked with a diverse collection of books donated by staff, along with educational materials, chairs and knapsack racks, among other things to create an inspiring, comfortable and conducive learning and recreation environment.

Clover Reddie-Brown, the home’s founder, shared her appreciation for the initiative and continued support of the Home, noting that the gesture went beyond the gifts and festivities to create cherished memories and a sense of belonging for the children during the holiday season.

The 53-year-old facility in Kingston currently houses 25 children between four and 12 years of age.

In addition to the gift-giving, the Youth Education Association (YEA), which partnered in the initiative, provided the facility with essential items, toiletries, and other supplies, further enhancing the holiday experience for the children.

As the year concludes, tTech Limited remains dedicated to its mandate of supporting the Reddie Children’s Home, along with other youth-based initiatives in Jamaica.
