Twenty Haitians who arrived on the island on Saturday via boat have been sent back to their home country.

The group, which included 14 men, four women and two boys, one of whom is a toddler, was repatriated last evening by the Jamaica Defense Force Coast Guard.

They arrived on a beach in Kensington, Portland, on Saturday, after which they were snatched up by the police and taken to the Port Antonio Police Station for processing.

This is the fourth group of Haitians to arrive on the island since the start of 2024 to escape the ongoing violence in Haiti.

Morgan emphasised that for years Jamaicans have experienced uneven road quality, slow follow-through, and a lack of confidence expressed by citizens as road repairs have not been done properly, even when funds are allocated.
