Two men have been charged with possession of and dealing in ganja following the seizure of a quantity of ganja at the intersection of Bow Lane and Water Road, in the vicinity of the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre, in Kingston on Friday, January 12.

They are 42-year-old Sherman Tucker, a barber of Dam Head Crescent, Spanish Town in St. Catherine and 54-year-old Kenneth Bundy, of Melbrook Heights, Kingston 17.

According to reports from the Elletson Road police, around 10:50 p.m., a team was on patrol in the area when they saw a white Probox motor vehicle parked along the roadway. The occupants of the Probox were reportedly acting in a manner that aroused the suspicion of the police team, which resulted in the team accosting the occupants of the vehicle.

The police reportedly searched the vehicle and found 26 parcels containing vegetable matter resembling ganja.

The police say based on their investigation, it is believed that the men were attempting to smuggle the items into the prison.

A court date is yet to be finalised.
