Two men in custody over murder of JDF soldier, woman among others sought

Two men, who were listed as Persons of Interest in relation to the death of a member of the Jamaica Defence Force, turned themselves in to lawmen assigned to the Major Investigations Division (MID) on Thursday, February 12.

The men were being sought by the police following the murder of 24-year-old Daniel Crawford on Stephen Lane, Kingston 13, on Tuesday, February 10.

At about 8:51 pm, a police team was summoned to the area following reports of explosions. A search of the area was conducted, during which Crawford was seen with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The men in custody are to be interviewed by investigators at MID. Meanwhile, the police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate three other individuals, who were also listed as Persons of Interest.

They are:

  • A woman known as ‘Kim’
  • A man known only as ‘Shane’ of Kidd Lane, Kingston 13
  • A man known only as ‘Kevan,’ otherwise called ‘Brisco,’ also of Kidd Lane, Kingston 13

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
