Two police officers killed at car wash in St Andrew Central

The Half-Way Tree police are investigating the shooting death of two police officers at a car wash and car mart located at 83 Waltham Park Road, Kingston 13, on Thursday night.

Reports are that about 7:35 pm on November 13, constables Charles Audley Stewart, who was attached to the Spanish Town Police Station and dressed in uniform, and Jemarey Gordon, who was assigned to C-TOC, were shot and injured by unknown assailants.

Both officers were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 7:38 pm.

Constable Stewart served at the Spanish Town reception area.

In the meantime, Head of the St Catherine North Police, SSP Hopton Nicholson, has announced grief-management arrangements for staff.

A general grief-management session with the division’s chaplain and other mental-health support personnel is scheduled for this morning for all available personnel.
