Two shot dead, two others injured in St James

Detectives attached to the Area One Major Investigations Division are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of two men and the injuring of two others in two separate incidents in Hurlock district, Granville in St James.

The deceased, who are both of Hurlock district in the parish, have been identified as 20-year-old graphic artist, Ronaldinho Headley, otherwise called ‘Mike’ and Oniel Howe, otherwise called ‘Red Neck’.

In the first incident, at about 8:00 pm on Friday the 13th, Howe and other men were at a bar in the community when a Toyota motor car drove up. Armed men reportedly exited the motor car and opened gunfire, hitting three men. The gunmen then escaped.

The police were alerted and, on their arrival, the injured men were taken to the hospital where Howe was pronounced dead; the other two men were treated. In the second incident at about 8:30 pm, residents heard explosions and called the police. When the police responded they found Headley lying on a roadway in the community with gunshot wounds.

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Detectives are urging anyone with information that can assist their investigation of the incidents to contact the Montego Bay Criminal Investigations Branch at 876-684-9080, Crime Stop at 311, the NIB tip line at 811 or the nearest police station.
