Two-vehicle collision leaves one dead, four injured in Trelawny

One person was killed and four others injured in a two-vehicle collision along the Harmony Cove main road in Trelawny on Thursday afternoon, the police have confirmed. 

The crash occurred about 4:45 pm and involved a Toyota Fortuner travelling towards St Ann and a Suzuki Jimny travelling in the opposite direction, according to preliminary reports. 

It is suspected that one of the vehicles was attempting to overtake at the time of the collision.

Police say one occupant of the Toyota Fortuner was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other occupants were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Suzuki Jimny was also taken to the hospital. The conditions of the injured are not yet known.
