The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) is advising staff, students, and stakeholders that it is currently experiencing intermittent disruptions to its connectivity services.

UCC says this is due to issues affecting its external internet service provider following the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa.

As of Monday, November 3, 2025, several of the institution’s digital platforms have been impacted, resulting in temporary interruptions to its communication systems, including phone lines.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused by this disruption and appreciate the patience and understanding of our UCC community as we navigate these challenges. Our network providers are working diligently to restore full connectivity and service as soon as possible.

“We encourage all staff, students, faculty, and stakeholders to rely on the official UCC communication channels for timely updates on our operations and recovery efforts,” the university said.

The university extends heartfelt sympathy to members of the UCC community and the wider Jamaican public who have been severely affected by this natural disaster.

“We stand in solidarity with the nation as we work collectively toward recovery and renewal. We thank you for your understanding and continued support during this temporary interruption,” it said.
