The United Kingdom (UK) today (October 18) announced that Guyanese nationals will, as of November 9, no longer be required to hold visas to travel there.
Jane Miller, United Kingdom high commissioner to Guyana, was joined by Guyana President Irfaan Ali as she made the announcement during a news conference.
According to Miller, Guyanese nationsl will no longer need a visas for stays of up to six months.

Individuals who would like to remain in the UK for a longer visit, or to work or study, will, however, require a visa.
The high commissioner said the removal of the visa requirement was a sign of the growth of the relationship between the two nations.
Ali said that, while London has indicated that there would be no special security screening for Guyanese nationals, he was urging his country’s citizens to not abuse the process as a great deal of hard work had gone into getting the UK to agree to the new arrangement.
