The United Way of Jamaica, in partnership with title sponsor CIBC Caribbean, hosted a heartwarming movie night on December 17th for 210 children and 35 caregivers from 10 children’s homes across Jamaica.
The event was held at Carib 5 in Crossroads and featured an exclusive screening of Zootopia 2.
The initiative was also supported by key partners, including Scotiabank, JN Bank & Foundation, Barita Investments, Answers, JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, with the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) ensuring seamless transportation and supervision.
“CIBC Caribbean believes in creating meaningful experiences that remind our children they are supported and cared for,” said Annique Dawkins, Head of Country, CIBC Caribbean Jamaica. “Zootopia 2 is a powerful story about understanding emotions and building resilience, and we’re honoured to share this moment of inspiration and joy.”

Dr Devon Smith, Board Chair of the United Way of Jamaica, emphasised the importance of community and hope during the holiday season. “This initiative reflects the heart of our work—showing care, intention, and partnership to remind these children they are seen and valued.”
Children enjoyed the film, toy distribution, holiday music, and surprises, making for an unforgettable evening.
Kerry-Lee Lynch, Acting CEO of the United Way of Jamaica, thanked sponsors and partners for making the initiative possible. “This movie night uplifts and empowers these children, showing they are valued and supported by their community.”
