Tropical Storm Elsa continues to dump massive amounts of rain across much of Jamaica on Sunday (July 4), with road networks in Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine, Clarendon and St Thomas coming under particular strain.

According to the latest advisories from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), the following roadways are currently impassable at this time:

St Catherine

Might Gully
Church Pen main road in the vicinity of Lincoln Auto
Walks Road
Old Harbour Road

Clarendon

Coffals main Road
Logwood
Rasta Corner, under the bridge
The bridge at Cox in Milk River

Also impassable in Clarendon, according to an update from the National Works Agency (NWA), is the Guinep Tree to Chapleton main road and Rasta Gully in Sandy Bay.

Commuters are being asked to use Highway 2000 if heading east from May Pen to St Catherine.

Member of Parliament for East Rural St Andrew Juliet Holness is urging residents in Beach Road, near the border with St Thomas, to be vigilant in light of rising floodwaters and to evacuate and seek higher ground where necessary.

Most of the affected roads listed in earlier Our Today coverage remain flooded at this time. Motorists are being urged to avoid the Half-Way-Tree area
