A suspect has been taken into custody in connection to the murder of Sandra Risden, the 63-year-old paralegal who was shot and killed by suspected hitmen on Washington Boulevard, St Andrew, last week Thursday.

He was apprehended in the Waterhouse community during an operation after the incident.

However, formal charges have not yet been laid.

Reports are that the 63-year-old, who resided at both Crooked River, Clarendon, and Ziadie Gardens, Kingston, was on her way to work when she encountered traffic on the busy thoroughfare. Two men on motorcycles approached her vehicle and shot her.

The gunmen were challenged by the police, leading to a shootout. However, the killers escaped.

Risden was pronounced dead at the hospital.
