The Togabo House of Assembly (THA) says it has scrapped the TT$10,000 bounty on a bull shark, following an attack on a British national on Friday (April 26).

THA chief secretary Farley Augustine disclosed in a press conference that the reward is retracted until further notice.

In the meantime, seven beaches shuttered by authorities after the shark attack will remain closed today.

Peter Smith, a 64-year-old tourist, was mauled by a ‘sizeable’ bull shark just 10 metres from the shoreline along Turtle Beach in Tobago on Friday morning.
