US Embassy celebrates 4th of July early in Kingston

The Fourth of July is a momentous occasion for all Americans living in and outside the United States as the country celebrates its independence.

It evokes the contributions of the likes of Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and John Adams.

Here in Jamaica, the US Embassy always rolls out the red carpet to celebrate the 4th of July and hosts one of the best parties in Kingston, which sees local cognoscenti come out in their finest.

This year, the US Embassy chose to celebrate the big day on Wednesday (June 25) and what an affair it was!

The pageantry and soldiers in splendid uniforms made the event a top savour.

The dress code was “Garden Chic”, but hardly anyone paid that any mind, opting to show respect with formal attire.
