UWI Mona warns public against fake degrees, other certificates for sale

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Mona campus has revealed that it is currently investigating reports of certificates, purporting to be undergraduate and post graduate degrees conferred by the tertiary institution, being sold to members of the public.

In a statement this morning (January 22), a The UWI advised employers, educational institutions and others concerned to be on the look out for the fraudulent documents.

“All certificates conferred by the University have security features to guarantee authenticity, however, we encourage any organisation in doubt of the legitimacy of degrees or certificates to contact our Examinations Sections for verification of same at: 876-935-8855-60 or email us at: [email protected],” The UWI said.

“We also encourage persons who come into possession of these counterfeit documents to report the matter to the Fraud Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.”
