A University of the West Indies (UWI) student was reportedly found dead by her roommate on Thursday in what is suspected to be a case of suicide.

She has not yet been identified, but was a resident of the George Alleyne Hall and a member of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The university has since mobilised its support systems for students affected by the tragedy.

The police are investigating.
