VCB celebrates 40 and a new baby

Retired Jamaican Olympic sprint champion Veronica Campbell Brown is glowing on her 40th birthday today (May 15), having announced she is pregnant with her second child.

In a post on social platforms this morning, Campbell Brown said: “Four decades! I am grateful to celebrate another milestone with hubby and Avianna, as we excitedly anticipate the arrival of of baby number two. Today is the beginning of another year of abundant blessings.”

Campbell Brown and her husband, fellow sprinter Omar Brown, married in 2007, and their first child, Avianna, was born in 2019 after the three-time Olympic gold medallists wrapped up her career on the track.

She is also a three-time World Champion and one of the most decorated athletes in Jamaica’s history.

Her Olympic gold medal in the 200m at Athens 2004, herald a golden age of sprinting for the island marked by more than a decade of dominance in the years that followed.

Among the many persons congratulating Campbell Brown on her birthday and pregnancy this morning were social media personality Yendi Phillipps, singer Alaine and Alyshia Powell, wife of Olympian Asafa Powell.
