The police are still trying to locate the vendor who they believe can assist them in their investigation of the sale of ganja-laced sweets to a number of St Ann’s Bay Primary School students two weeks ago.

Superintendent David White, acting head of the St Ann Police Division, told Our Today that the police are still investigating the circumstances which led to more than 60 students being rushed to the St Ann’s Bay hospital on Monday, October 2.

The students reportedly began to experience dizzy spells and vomiting, while some fainted after consuming a candy called Sour Belts that they purchased from an unfamiliar vendor who showed up at the school gate selling ‘Sour Patch Belt candy’.

According to the outer packaging of the candy, it contains 0.3 per cent Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the main psychoactive compound in ganja.

The police have since identified the vendor as Devon Holness, a resident of Mansfield Heights in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Holness is being asked to make contact with the St Ann police as soon as possible.
