Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange has announced that the service of thanksgiving for Donald ‘Tabby Diamond’ Shaw will take place at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre on Friday (May 20), starting at 11:00 a.m.

Grange said: “To start the thanksgiving service, the remaining member of the Mighty Diamonds group, Lloyd ‘Judge’ Ferguson, will lead a musical tribute to Tabby that will also feature performances by Bongo Herman; Dr Carlene Davis; Dean Fraser; Duane Stephenson; and Leroy Sibblies along with members of the
Shaw family.

“In keeping with the wishes of the family I am asking that there be no taking of photographs or videoing of Tabby’s remains at the viewing or at the thanksgiving service.”

“On Thursday, May 19, the public will be able to pay their respects at a viewing at Perry’s Funeral Home located at Job’s Lane on the Spanish Town By-pass in St Catherine from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“In keeping with the wishes of the family I am asking that there be no taking of photographs or videoing of Tabby’s remains at the viewing or at the thanksgiving service.

“I again express my deepest sympathy to Tabby’s daughters, Samantha, Josheina, Kelee, Dasheica, and Ishika and to his sons Donald, Javian, Jahmarley and Tarrow and to ‘Judge Diamond’.”

The 67-year-old Tabby Diamond was among two persons killed in a shooting just days before 70-year-old Fitzroy ‘Bunny Diamond’ Simpson passed away after a long battle with illness. Along with ‘Judge’ Ferguson, the three made up the Mighty Diamonds.
