The VM Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2025-26 scholars programme. The programme provides scholarship and bursary opportunities to support students from primary to tertiary levels.
With awards ranging from $60,000 to $500,000, the offerings include the Junior Plan Scholarship and PEP Bursary awarded to top-performing PEP students transitioning to high school; the Future Plan Scholarship given to eligible students starting tertiary education; the STEM Scholarship, for a student starting undergraduate study in the area of science, technology, engineering or mathematics; and the Master Plan scholarship, awarded to an undergraduate student entering their final year of study or a student starting post-graduate studies.
Two new categories, which were added to the programme last year, are also being maintained.
The VM Foundation/University of Technology (UTech) Ja Scholarship is to be awarded to a student entering their second year of study in the Faculty of the Built Environment at the institution, and the VM Pensioners’ Bursary will support a student entering final year of undergraduate study at any local tertiary institution.
Speaking on the importance of the programme, Samantha Charles, CEO of the VM Foundation, shared: “We believe in opening doors to a brighter future. Through the VM Scholars Programme, we are not just funding education—we’re building leaders, innovators, and changemakers who will shape Jamaica’s tomorrow. We encourage all eligible students to seize this opportunity to help alleviate the financial challenges that can oftentimes affect their ability to fully pursue their educational goals.”
Scholarships and bursaries are tenable at any accredited local institution. Potential candidates are invited to visit the foundation’s website, view the eligibility and financial details, and submit their application by the June 30 deadline.
