Vybz Kartel takes legal action against the Gov’t

Jamaican dancehall artist Adidja Palmer popularly known as Vybz Kartel is reportedly taking the government to court after being placed in solitary confinement by the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) in recent weeks.

According to reports, the entertainer’s lawyer, Isat Buchanan has filed legal documents in the Supreme Court which stated that Palmer’s right to due process was breached by the DCS when he was placed in solitary confinement without a hearing.

Buchanan in a recent interview with Fox 5 also noted that the entertainer is suffering from a life-threatening medical condition.

Fox 5 News reporter Lisa Evers obtained a sworn medical affidavit where the entertainer’s private doctor notified that his Grave’s Disease and heart condition that is getting worse and could be fatal if surgery is not done.

Vybz Kartel has reportedly been in a 23-hour lockdown since May after he was found in possession of two cell phones at the Tower Street Correctional Facility.
