King of Dancehall Vybz Kartel is set to receive the prestigious MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Impact Award at the upcoming MOBO Awards 2025 in the United Kingdom.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18 at the Utilita Arena Newcastle. This is Kartel’s first visit to the UK in over a decade.
Known for hits like Fever, which catapulted him to fame in 2003, Kartel has become a global dancehall music force. His latest album, Party With Me, has earned a nomination for Best Reggae Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

The MOBO Awards, hosted by Eddie Kadi and Indiyah Polack, will be live-streamed globally on YouTube at 8 pm on the night of the event. Performances from artistes like Spice, Krept & Konan, Odeal, Darkoo, and others promise an exciting evening for fans of Black music and culture.
Speaking on this year’s honourees, MOBO founder and CEO Kanya King CBE stated: “Vybz Kartel’s influence on music is immeasurable. His impact extends beyond the world of dancehall, where he remains a giant. Honouring him on the MOBO stage will be a historic moment.”
