Incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel will release another EP in December of this year, titled The Appellant.
The announcement was made yesterday (November 14) on his Instagram account, where he also shared a new picture of himself.

“New EP Coming this December! #TheAppellant EP from the #ExiledPharaohSeries part1,” he captioned the photo.
The ‘World Boss’ also tagged his lawyer Isat Buchanan and producers TJ Records and Aiko Pon Di Beat in the post.

Though there have been no details about the content of the EP, the title refers to Kartel’s final appeal before the United Kingdom Privy Council.
The 46-year-old was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his associate Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams in 2014, and was ordered to serve a maximum of 35 years before he is eligible for parole.
But, through an appeal, the years were reduced and he was ordered to serve 32 years before parole.
Kartel will make another appeal to the Privy Council before the year ends, on the grounds that there was evidence tampering during his case, which led to his conviction.
Both Buchanan and the proclaimed ‘King of Dancehall’ are optimistic that the new evidence will see Kartel being exonerated.

“I’m very happy and optimistic about being before the Privy Council. It is the final court, and justice is for all,” Buchanan had told Fox5NY’s Lisa Evers.
The post about the new EP has since received hundreds of comments from fans chanting an 11-year-old mantra to “Free World Boss.”
The announcement of new music comes less than three months after the release of Kartel’s True Religion EP.
True Religion was dedicated to his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk and had seven tracks released on September 30.
