Jamaican dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel may be many things, including the self-proclaimed “vocabulary physicist”, but even he admits that his expertise does not lend itself to giving well-informed medical advice.

Following months of commentary regarding the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine from famed Jamaican artistes, the “Teacha” on Tuesday (September 28) took to Instagram to weigh in on the debate.

In a since deleted Instagram story, Kartel stated: “Entertainers are among the least educated in society (most a we dunce like bat!) and therefore are among the least qualified people on earth to give medical advice for anything or against anything.”

In light of this, on the matter of COVID-19 vaccination, the Colouring This Life singer argued: “Do your own research and decide what’s best for you… come to me when you wanna ‘whine your waist’ and ‘bruk out’ in a party!…that’s where I’m the expert.”

Kartel’s comments have since found much favour among Jamaican Twitter users who have expressed their gratitude to him for being “the voice of reason”.

In response to the dancehall singer’s arguments, @_mellanin tweeted, “This is why Addi a mi daddy,” and @Nxhj_ stated, “A word from my king.”

Kartel was among a group of prison inmates who on Friday (September 3) received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

Our Today understands that Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was inoculated with the Oxford AstraZeneca jab.
