Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel has earned his second UK certification with his 2011 hit Summer Time, which was officially certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on Friday, June 27.

The award recognises sales and streaming figures surpassing 200,000 units in the United Kingdom.

Summer Time, produced by Swedish beatmaker Adde Instrumentals and released under Tads Records, remains one of Kartel’s most iconic tracks, with over 111 million views on YouTube.

The deejay’s first UK certification was in 2023 for the 2016 single Fever, which received the British Certified Silver Award on Friday, February 10, after also surpassing 200,000 units in sales and streams, as measured by the Official Charts Company.
