The Golden State Warriors closed out their NBA preseason with a 3–2 record and made a few last-minute adjustments before the regular season tips off.

The team has released Seth Curry and rookie guard LJ Cryer, though one of those cuts might not be for long. Reports suggest the Warriors plan to bring Curry back once their salary cap situation allows it.

Curry, an 11-year NBA veteran, signed with the Warriors on October 1, but didn’t log any preseason minutes. Even so, his shooting touch and ability to stretch the floor make him an ideal fit for Steve Kerr’s system.

The front office still sees him as part of their bigger picture, especially as they juggle financial restrictions tied to high-priced stars like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler.

As for Cryer, the rookie made the most of his brief opportunity. In five preseason games, he averaged 5.0 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.6 rebounds. Though he’s been waived, the Warriors may still keep him on their radar for a two-way deal or a spot with their G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
