After declaring her new allegiance to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), former People’s National Party Councillor Venesha Phillips said the decision was a long time coming and “not something that happened out of emotivity”.
Speaking at the JLP’s 80th annual conference on Sunday, November 26, Phillips lauded Prime Minister Andrew Holness for vision and leadership, likening his tactics to that of the former charismatic and captivating PNP leader Michael Manley. She added that it should come as no surprise to anyone then why she is endeared by this and switched allegiance.
She concluded that she believes that Andrew Holness means and wants to serve the country well and that she wants to be a part of it.
