Warner Bros. Pictures released the trailer for its upcoming superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the 15th and final installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
The DCEU film is the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Aquaman, which grossed over US$1 billion worldwide, starring Jason Mamoa and Amber Heard.
The trailer gives fans a glimpse of Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry returning as the titular superhero, as he teams up with his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) to fight a new threat, Black Manta. The film also stars Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.
The trailer is full of action and adventure, with stunning visuals and underwater sequences. It also teases a more emotional story for Arthur, as he struggles to balance his duties as king of Atlantis with his personal life.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is produced by Peter Safran, Wan and Rob Cowan. The executive producers are Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada. The screenplay is by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from a story by James Wan & David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Jason Momoa & Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, based on characters from DC, Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.
