A woman claiming to have given refuge to Buju Banton’s deceased son, Miles Myrie, is calling out the reggae superstar for child abandonment in a video released on social media.
“Stop having your children all over the place and leaving them to the whim of this f**ked up world,” she lashed out in a rant directed at Banton.
The woman claimed to have met Banton’s 20-year-old deceased child through her son. She further claimed that she allowed him stay at her house for two months because “he was out in the street homeless…”
“My house is in transition, I’m getting ready to move… so I gave him two months,” she said.
“Last week Thursday before this little boy died, he came back to my house looking for his things because the two months were up,” she added. “He wasn’t well, he neva look well.”
She again claimed to have him stay a bit longer because of his deplorable condition.
“I had his brother on the phone and I was talking to them and telling them about Miles, and I said to them ‘him don’t look good right now…him need to get to the mental hospital, him need help’,” she said.
The distraught woman divulged that she convinced them to come and retrieve Myrie and they did, but that they did not take him to the hospital as she had suggested.
“They knew he was troubled, they knew he had issues,” she lamented. “Buju, you did not bring your son home to you in Jamaica. You need to be held accountable for these kids.”
“He got killed on the street begging for food,” she asserted. “Buju son deh pon the street a beg! Him lose him life from begging for food! Yuh could have done better!”
“Wah kinda fada yuh is? It’s wickedness!” she cried, “What kinda man is you?”
The video, now making its rounds on social media, has raised concerns over the woman’s claims, with many pointing out that allegations of Banton abusing or abandoning his children have been made before by his own children.
Jahaziel and Abihail Myrie are two of Banton’s reported 17 children who have been openly critical of their celebrity father.
“Why y’all acting like this is the first viral moment that Buju was “exposed” as a deadbeat father? A few kids spoke on it when he was released, [his daughter], but y’all shut her down. But he’s your favourite so he’s gonna get a pass,” one commenter wrote on X.com
