Shanxi Province in the People’s Republic of China is a landlocked area of the country, located just east of the capital Beijing in the north, and filled with rich natural and historical beauty.
The province, where nearly 40 million people live, is also home to several sacred religious temples and the Shanxi Museum, with expansive collections of regional artefacts going back to prehistory.
